HHC Celebrates its First Baby of 2015 at Coney Island Hospital

Second HHC baby born at Metropolitan Hospital shortly after midnight

The New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC) Coney Island Hospital welcomed the first baby of 2015 at the stroke of midnight yesterday. The baby boy, Maxim weighed 8 lbs, 8 oz.

Maxim was born to Olena and Vasyl Olenyukh of Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. This is the first baby for the family. Mother and baby are doing well.

“Coney Island Hospital is thrilled to have the first baby born of 2015,” said HHC Coney Island Hospital Executive Director Arthur Wagner. “We are elated to be part of such a special moment for this family.”

HHC Metropolitan Hospital in Manhattan also welcomed baby boy Ethan Mark Delgado Lama at 12:12 am, weighing 5 lbs, 7.8 oz. Proud mom Shreya Lama of East Harlem and her son are both doing well.
