Stephen Catullo, MBA Appointed CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals/Coler

NYC Health + Hospitals President and CEO Mitchell Katz, MD, today announced the appointment of Stephen Catullo, MBA as Chief Executive of NYC Health + Hospitals/Coler. Mr. Catullo has nearly three decades of experience in health care delivery and administration, and has served in various leadership roles in the NYC Health + Hospitals skilled-nursing facility network since 1997. As CEO, Catullo will help lead the skilled-nursing facility in ensuring all residents and patients have convenient access to ongoing high-quality care and resources. Mr. Catullo was selected after an extensive search for the role, with input from internal post-acute care administrators, the Community Advisory Board, and Coler residents. His appointment is effective January 31, 2022.
“Our public health system is made up of thousands of passionate, expert health care professionals who have dedicated decades of their careers to our facilities, and Stephen is just another example of this,” said Dr. Katz. “Stephen is bringing over twenty years of working within our system’s network of skilled-nursing facilities to his new role. That’s over twenty years of institutional knowledge and understanding of what our residents, patients, and their families deserve from their long-term care facility.”
“I’ve dedicated my career to skilled-nursing facilities for many reasons, one being the special relationship a resident and their family have to have with the team and facility they trust to care for them,” said Mr. Catullo. “I am looking forward to returning to Coler and working with the incredible team of caregivers there, making it an even better place where so many residents call home.”
Mr. Catullo has over 24 years in the NYC Health + Hospitals system, in positions of increasing responsibility, most recently as the Deputy Executive Director at NYC Health + Hospitals/McKinney, where he helped lead the operations for the 320-bed skilled-nursing facility. Prior, he also served in director positions at NYC Health + Hospitals/Carter and NYC Health + Hospitals/Coler, having served administrative positions.
Mr. Catullo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and Master of Science degree in speech pathology from Cleveland State University. He earned his MBA from CUNY/Baruch College. He is also a New York State licensed nursing home administrator.
