Many of NYC Health + Hospitals’ facilities are designated Stroke Centers by the New York State Department of Health. Our dedicated and caring stroke team is specially trained in stroke diagnosis and treatment, so we can provide urgent care, rapid diagnosis, and effective treatment.
Know the signs of a stroke and call 911 if you suspect you may be experiencing a stroke. Signs and symptoms include:
- Sudden weakness or numbness of the face, arm, or leg on one side of the body
- Confusion or difficulty speaking or understanding
- Trouble walking
- Dizziness
- Loss of balance
- Severe unexplained headaches
Our Stroke Centers operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We provide rapid testing, analysis, and affordable treatment giving all New Yorkers the best chance for a complete recovery.
