Interested in providing care to New Yorkers in the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic response?

NYC Health + Hospitals, the nation’s largest public health system, is recruiting numerous primary and specialty care providers to support some of the hardest hit hospitals treating patients with COVID-19.

These are unpaid positions.

Join the team to help with the citywide COVID-19 response! NYC is seeking Contact Tracers and Supervisory Contact Tracers to perform COVID-19 case interviews and contact tracing. Click here to apply.

For clinical volunteers, we seek volunteers that meet the following criteria:

• Must be an MD, DO, PA, NP, or CRNAs
• Active or expired medical license from a US state or territory

Particularly interested in people with experience or expertise in:

• Emergency medicine
• Critical care medicine + Anesthesiology
• Inpatient hospitalist medicine

Volunteer applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Active NPI number
• No prior felonies
• No current ongoing legal issues surrounding your license or had their privileges revoked at a facility
• Not be disqualified under New York State’s Matilda’s Law, which prevents individuals over 70 years of age or who are immunosuppressed
• Have seen patients within the last 5 years
• Able and willing to practice medicine according to current standards of care

Foreign Medical Graduates may be eligible to volunteer if they have had one year of US post graduate training at an ACGME-accredited program. Such volunteers may practice medicine under supervision as if they were PGY-2s. At this time, all other Foreign Medical Graduates, including ECFMG-certified individuals, are not eligible to act as clinical volunteers.

You may indicate on your application if you have a specific facility or borough you wish to volunteer in. We will honor your facility preference 100% of the time.

Typically, the review for disaster privileges is complete within 24-48 hours of your submission. If disaster privileges are issued, we will let our facilities know of your availability and your expertise so they can reach out if they need your assistance. Because staffing needs are rapidly evolving, we cannot anticipate how quickly a facility may reach out. You can then arrange your start date and schedule with that site coordinator.

If we are not able to issue disaster privileges to you we will provide you with alternative, non-clinical pathways you could assist NYC Health + Hospitals during these trying times.
