Milton Nuñez

Milton Nuñez has more than 20 years of experience in health care with a strong background in finance and information technology and a proven track record of working effectively with physicians, nurses and administrators. He has worked with NYC Health + Hospitals for more than 13 years, most recently as executive director of the NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln in the Bronx. Immediately prior to that, Mr. Nuñez served almost 10 years as deputy executive director/chief financial officer of the North Brooklyn Health Network, which included NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull and NYC Health + Hospitals/Cumberland, a Gotham Health Center.

Under his leadership, NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull implemented effective service line consolidations and developed staffing benchmarks for physicians, nurses and other staff. He led a collaboration to revamp ambulatory care service delivery to lower costs, improve operations and increase managed care enrollment. Mr. Nuñez managed the transition of a new medical affiliation with New York University School of Medicine. Mr. Nunez also served as interim CFO for the Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY).

Before joining HHC, Mr. Nuñez served as director of finance and information systems for the Beth Abraham/CNR Health Care Network and as director of finance and IT for the Mount Sinai IPA. He trained in actuarial science and economics, received a Bachelor of Science degree in theoretical mathematics from State University of New York at Stony Brook and has PhD-level work in economics and statistics from the City University of New York Graduate Center.
