The City’s public health system’s first baby of 2021 was welcomed at NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island this morning at 12:00 AM. Named Jaxel Rodriguez, the boy weighs 6 lbs. 11 oz. and measures 19 in. Jaxel was born to parents Ivett Rodriguez and Antonio Guilbert. The baby boy is the couple’s third child.

The family is of Hispanic descent and Spanish speakers. They reside in Brooklyn and say they “have the best gift of the new year.”

The City’s public health system’s 11 hospitals provide expert prenatal care, labor and delivery services, family planning, comprehensive gynecology, women’s health and primary care outpatient medical support for women at every stage of life.
