Auxiliary at NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens

The Auxiliary at NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens organizes activities designed to raise funds directed toward enhancing patient care.

The Auxiliary at NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens is a voluntary organization whose primary mission is to raise funds that can be used to enhance the excellent care our patients.    Our gifts to the hospital help to ensure that NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens is ready to serve our community with cutting-edge medical technology and innovative programs which enhance patient care and comfort.

Since its revival as a key fundraiser of the new NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens in 2002, the Auxiliary has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars through various fundraising events held throughout the year including a spectacular gala.  These events offer members many opportunities to become involved, meet new people and take on new leadership roles.

This organization works tirelessly to meet and surpass the challenge of ensuring that sufficient funds are raised to support the mission of NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens :  To extend equally to all New Yorkers, regardless of their ability to pay, comprehensive health services of the highest quality in an atmosphere of humane care, dignity, and respect.  Patients are always at the center of everything we do and we take great pride in making a positive difference for so many in need of quality healthcare.

Over the past two years, the Auxiliary has spent over $1 million on life-saving equipment and vital services for patients:

• Defibrillators used to treat life threatening heart conditions;
• A portable Phillips Echo Machine that can quickly deliver high tech bedside care to cardiology patients;
• SonoSite M-Turbo machine and probe to provide effective visualization of joints and musculoskeletal structures for injections, diagnoses and evaluations.
• A Phaco Machine that allows surgeons in the operating room to perform safer cataract surgeries and handle a higher volume; and
• Many more items, programs and services to enhance patient care.

The Auxiliary at NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens  is a non-profit 501(C)3 organization and a public charity.  The Auxiliary meets once a month and if you are a resident of the communities served by the hospital, you are welcomed and encouraged to join us and to participate in our fund raising efforts.  As a member of the Auxiliary, your experience and interests will contribute to our successful efforts
