The NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull Department of Dentistry/Department of Maxillofacial Surgery has three fully accredited residency training programs:
- A two-year program in Pediatric Dentistry. The program encompasses comprehensive dental care for children from birth to age 21. Patients are seen in a brand new seven chair facility that includes oral sedation and nitrous oxide analgesia equipment. We also have full main operating room capability, including radiology, which permits delivery of comprehensive dental care to children who cannot be managed under local anesthesia.
- A one-year program in General Practice Dentistry. There is also an optional second year, which includes a half-time option. Our facility includes 22 operatories and a fully digital radiology and clinical management system. Our clinical focus includes extensive implant placement, comprehensive restorative care, and complex root canal therapy.
- A four-year program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The program includes full-scope oral surgery training in ambulatory and inpatient settings. Procedures are done under local or general anesthesia. The program meets or exceeds all requirements of the Council on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association.
