Safe Haven Site

If you’re pregnant and are feeling scared, or if you’re having difficulty caring for your newborn, we are here for you.

NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island is a safe haven site for newborn infants. Under New York State’s Abandoned Infant Protection Act, newborns 30 days old or younger may be left with an appropriate person at a safe haven site. Under the Abandoned Infant Protection Act, you do not need to share your name or identity.
