The Adult, Pediatric, Obstetric, and Behavioral Health Emergency Department (ED) at NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, year round. Our department is staffed with a professional and highly trained team of physicians, physician assistants, and nurses, including many who have completed additional training in emergency medicine.

We are a designated specialty stroke care center, which is equipped to administer immediate medical care to patients suffering from acute strokes. In addition, Coney Island’s Emergency Department treats a varying level of traumas and injuries and depending on the age of patients or illness/injury.

Our Fast Track area allows patients with less serious injuries or illnesses to be quickly diagnosed and assigned a plan of treatment in order to be quickly discharged. This greatly decreases the waiting time to be seen by a physician.
