Join Metropolitan’s diabetes prevention program – PREVENT T2
Prevent T2 is a lifestyle change program to help you lose weight, be more active, and prevent or delay type 2 diabetes, the most common type of diabetes. Prevent T2 is part of the National Diabetes Prevention Program, led by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). It is proven to help people with prediabetes prevent or delay development of type 2 diabetes.
Who can participate in the program?
Anyone at risk for Type 2 Diabetes
Anyone with Pre-diabetes

You are at increased risk for developing prediabetes and type 2 diabetes if you:
If you think you may be at risk, a health care provider can do a blood test to see if you have diabetes or prediabetes.
How does Prevent T2 work?
Prevent T2 groups meet for a year — weekly for the first 6 months, then once or twice a month for the second 6 months to maintain healthy lifestyle changes.
A lifestyle coach, specially trained to lead the program, will help you learn new skills, encourage you to set and meet goals, and keep you motivated. The coach will also facilitate discussions and help make the program fun and engaging. You will learn to:
A year might sound like a long commitment, but learning new habits, gaining new skills, and building confidence takes time. As you begin to eat better and become more active, you’ll notice changes in how you feel, and maybe even in how you look.
