What are general patient visiting hours?

Patients have the right to designate any visitors, including a spouse, domestic partner, a same sex domestic partner, another family member or a friend. This hospital does not restrict, limit or otherwise deny visitation privileges based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability. Patients may withdraw or deny consent to visitation to anyone at any time.

Visiting is permitted 24 hours a day, seven days a week on all units except Psychiatry. Visitors must be at least 13 years old.

Psychiatry visiting hours are as follows:
Weekdays: Weekends:
2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Maternity Visiting Hours are as follows:
Labor and Delivery: Father/significant other of the baby may visit 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Sibling visitation hours are 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily with the approval of the nurse-in-charge. All others need administrative approval.

Neonatal Nursery:
24 hours a day, seven days a week for mothers, fathers, partners and grandparents of the baby.

How do I obtain a copy of my birth certificate?

Copies of birth certificates for births in New York City are available through the NYC Dept. of Health and Mental Hygiene. Birth certificates for births elsewhere in New York State are obtained at the New York State Department of Health.

How do I obtain my medical records?

You can come in person to the Health Information Management/Medical Records Department located on the first floor of the N Building, Room N100 with proper identification such as a passport, birth certificate or driver’s license.

How do I pay a bill?

The hospital takes cash, checks, debit and credit. Bring your bill to the hospital, speak with a financial counselor and pay the bill at the cashier.

How do I dispute a bill?

To dispute a bill, bring your bill with the supporting documents and speak with a financial counselor.

Where can I obtain a job application?

Job applications are available during normal business hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Human Resources Department on the sixth floor of the T Building.
