The Pediatric Residency Program at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln is dedicated to training and fostering the development of extraordinary pediatricians. Our balanced and flexible curriculum provides the cognitive and practical skills that are necessary to provide high quality, comprehensive and acute health care to infants, children, and adolescents. Our program provides an excellent foundation for future fellowship training. Our graduates go on to a wide variety of careers, including academic medicine, primary care practice, pediatric subspecialties, public health, and child advocacy.
A Unique Experience
We offer a three–year residency training program accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) with 17 categorical positions per year. The primary learning experience for all house staff is direct patient care. We have a complex and diverse patient population representative of the community we serve which provides a rich and valuable experience.
In addition to rotations at Lincoln, our pediatrics residents will experience other academic hospital settings for specialized services, including pediatric intensive care, cardiology, surgery, nephrology, hematology and oncology. Residents have the opportunity to rotate in our academic affiliate hospitals: Memorial Sloan Kettering, NYP/Weill Cornell, and Children’s Hospital at Montefiore.
Developing Extraordinary Pediatricians
The residency program strives to develop the full potential of each resident. Our residents have access to mentorship, support, and guidance from faculty during the three years of training. In fact, many of our pediatric and subspecialty attendings are former residents.
We aim to meet the needs of the community we serve and are committed to diversity among our trainees, faculty, and staff. We are continuously evaluating and discovering new and innovative ways to educate and provide feedback for residents to utilize throughout their careers. During your time at Lincoln you will be surrounded by exceptional pediatricians who will always prioritize resident education and well-being.
